Click on thumbnail for a description of the snare and a review of it by Bob Cianci, author of Great Rock Drummers Of The 60's. Bob had the drum and played it for a week or so and wrote the review.

Description:7 Ply Quarter sawn Maple shell with Macassar Ebony veneer. Slingerland style lugs and Dunnett Strainer. This strainer swivels 180 degrees and its position on the shell is also adjustable. SOLD

REVIEW Hi Ron...I want to send the snare drum back to you this week as I know you are anxious to see it again. Now for my ubiased review:

I very much liked the vintage Slingerland vibe of the drum, right down

to the badge. Very classy. I also think the overall workmanship is extremely

good, excellent, in fact. The finish is

very nicely done. I prefer lighter wood stains or wrapped finishes, but

that is just my personal preference. Soundwise, the drum was very sensitive,

with plenty of volume and resonance, qualities I value in a snare drum. The

rimshot crack was very good too as were cross stick rimshots. I did not have

to fiddle around with it too much initially. Just took it out of the box,

tweaked the tuning a little bit and played the gig. I would like to hear one of your snares in a 6.5 inch depth. I bet it would kill.

I liked the drum very much and would be

interested in trying a deeper drum from you. Most of my snares are 5.5 inch or

6.5 inch. My bandmates all thought the drum sounded good too.

Thanks for letting me check it out.

Best regards,

Bob
